Jones County 4-H Shooting Sports Club – “Trigger Fingers”

We’re a small-community club with a big heart, open to youth ages 8–18 who want to learn safe, skilled, and responsible shooting in a fun, encouraging environment. Our club offers six disciplines: shotgun, archery, small-bore rifle, air rifle, air pistol, and small-bore pistol. Whether a child is brand-new or experienced, there’s a place for them here.

Our practices are laid back but safety-first. Every session is led by at least one certified 4-H coach in that discipline, and we walk youth step-by-step through fundamentals, improvement, and personal goals. Parents are welcome to stay and watch, but once we have two screened volunteers present, drop-off is also welcome.

Now entering our fourth year, we’ve grown steadily and built a tight-knit group that reflects the spirit of rural Jones County. Our shooters have improved year after year—both in skill and in our tournament results—and we’re excited to keep that momentum going.

The club is open to any young person looking for:

  • A safe and supportive place to learn shooting sports

  • A group of like-minded friends

  • Opportunities to grow, lead, and challenge themselves

  • A connection to community service and the values of 4-H

If you’re looking for a welcoming place where youth can build confidence, discipline, friendships, and lifelong skills, we’d love to have you join us.
